Digging for Fossils

Weston got this "dinosaur egg" for Christmas. You have to chisel away at the "egg" until you find the skeleton. He and Brian have had lots of fun working on this.

Here they are chiseling away!

Working hard!

The Big Fort thing

Alright, here you go!! Here are some pictures of the fort thing that the boys got for Christmas. It is like a bunch of pool noodles with magnetic ends. The orange noodles have rods in them so that they will stand up. It is a pretty neat contraption. Weston and Brian have lots of fun playing with it. Because it is like lots of noodles, you can design the fort in many different ways. Enjoy the pictures of the fort and the beautiful children in it!!

Christmas Morning 2006

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope that everyone had a nice day. We had a nice Christmas here in North Carolina although we did miss all of our family back in Texas. Here are a few pictures from our Christmas morning. Weston, Brian and Aaron all had a great day. There were lots of fun presents! Thanks everyone! We hope that your day was as enjoyable as ours!! Merry Christmas!!

This picture is a litle blurry, but it shows the tree before the boys walked in. You can also see that the tree is really big!

Weston and Brian by their Santa presents!! Boy were they excited!!

They both got these Batman computers that they always play with when we go to Target. The table and chairs and toybox in the background were to the three boys from Barth and I! (they hve fire trucks and police cars on them) It was a great idea to get a toy box! All the new toys had a home when the day was done!!
Here are Weston and Brian playing their computers at the new table!

Christmas Mess!!

Yes, well Christmas does tend to get messy. Especially when you have 3 little boys and lots of presents. Weston, Brian and Aaron had lots of fun yesterday though and really enjoyed all of the gifts that they recieved. Thank you all for your nice gifts. The boys have been busy playing all day today as well as yesterday. We missed all of our family and wish that we had been there in Texas with you. We did have a nice day though. Here are a few pictures of all the mess!!

Brian playing with his Batman computer from Santa while Aaron looks on!

Whew! What a mess! It sure was fun though! Here we are checking out one of the many presents!
Now this is how I like it! All cleaned up at last!!

Unwrapping Presents

Here are a few pictures of the unwrapping of the presents. I must say that Weston and Brian were much more interested in unwrapping the presents though. Aaron mostly liked to play with the toys once they were out. He didn't really want to unwrap anything. His brothers liked to help him though!!

This was one of the first gifts for Aaron. He was still interested at this point because there wasn't much else to play with!!

Brian loved to oopen his gifts!

Weston and I are both trying to get Aaron to open this present. Eventually Weston just opened it for him.

We got this fire truck table and chair set for the boys. All Aaron wanted to do was climb all over it and if there happened to be someone in the way, well, he just climbed over them!!

Some more pictures

Here are some more pictures from Christmas. Weston likes his car track thing from Grandma and Grandpa Whitley.

Brian liked to make forts out of the many unopened boxes of toys. Next year I think that we will just buy all boxes and skip the toys!!! :)

Aaron wants to know how to do this thing!
Weston and Brian both got tool sets. They love them!!

More Christmas

Barth bought the boys each a movie just from him. He got if when he was out shopping. He got Cars for Weston and Curious George for Brian (since his favorite phrase is "be a good little monkey" from the PBS Curious George). They liked their movies. I had to get a picture of Daddy and the boys with their special gifts from him!! :)

Grandma and Grandpa Yorke got Weston and Brian these cool hats! Weston is a horse and Brian is a raccoon! Fun huh?

Merry Christmas!!!

We hope that you are all having a Merry Christmas! Here are two pictures that I took of the boys on Christmas Eve. They wore these cute matching sweaters to church. I must say, that you all missed out on the BEST EVER ward choir!! Ours yesterday was AWESOME!!! There were at least 30 (probably more) people singing. They sang all sorts of beautiful songs and then ended with the Halleluia Chorus. It sounded like a choir of angels. The spirit was so strong I could barely stand it. I was bawling at the end of the meeting. I am so grateful for Christ and His sacrifice for me. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Christmas Cookies

This afternoon we decorated Christmas sugar cookies. We had a great time! Weston and Brian made a huge mess but it was worth it. I am glad that we finally got to do this. It just seems like this Christmas has been more hectic than usual and there hasn't been nearly enough time to do all the things that I wanted to get done! Anyway, here are some cute pictures. We hope that you all have a Merry Christmas!

Ginger Bread Houses

Today was the first day of Christmas break here and so Weston and Brian made a ginger bread house. I just bought a kit instead of making it from scratch and it turned out really good. All I did was assemble the house and the boys decorated it themselves. They each got to do one side of the roof and house. Weston did the front and Brian did the back. They thought that it was great fun to decorate it all up! We will let it be our decoration for a few days and then they can eat it!! :)

Here they are busy at work!!

Weston and Brian decorating. The jar that Weston is reaching into is a little Christmas tree jar that has m&m's in them. The top comes off like a cookie jar, but it isn't big enough for cookies. Grandma Yorke gave it to us last year.
Here is the finished house. I think that they did a great job!
Well, after looking over these pictures, I guess that I should mention that we did these this morning and that the boys had not had their hair brushed yet!! Sorry about that. Its just what happens when you are on break.

FHE Tradition

Since we are far from family, we could not participate in the traditional FHE Christmas Story. We were going to hold it on Monday, just like the rest of the Whitley gang, but since Weston had a 4am trip to the ER Monday morning and was dragging by about 5:30 that night, we decided that we would do it on Tuesday instead. At our Enrichment Christmas craft day, I made a Christmas story in a box that we used for our re-enactment. It had the scriptures from Luke 2 and Matthew typed up as well, as Christmas songs to sing and costumes. It was a nice night and we could feel the Spirit there. I am so grateful for my Savior. I know that because of his sacrifice, I will one day return to live with Him and that my family will be able to be together forever. I am grateful for this time of year, when we can celebrate His birth and focus on trying to be like Him. We miss all of our family, especially at this time of the year. We love all of you and hope that you will have a great Christmas. Please know that we are thinking of you and that we are there in spirit!! Merry Christmas!!

Here are the shepards waiting in the wings!

The shepards visit Jesus!

The wise men looking to the Star to find the baby Jesus. (This is one of my favorites.)

Our shepards/ wise men!! We had a fun time.
