Katelynn on Sunday

After we got home today from church and visiting a sister who is in hospice, Katelynn was awake and alert, but not crying.  So, I snapped a few zillion pictures of her cute little self!  Enjoy!  She is getting so big!  Tomorrow afternoon is her 1 month check-up!

I love this cute one of her sticking out her tongue!!  :)

This one of her and Aaron was too sweet!
This last one is my absolute favorite!  What a sweet little face and a sweet baby girl!!

1 Month Old!!!

My sweet baby girl is one month old today!!  I can't believe how fast this last month has flown by!
Katelynn is the most calm and awake in the morning.  By the afternoon she is usually more fussy.  So, this morning I took a few pictures when she wasn't crying.  After I took these first 2, she had a super pooper, so she needed a bath and a change of clothes.  I have a baby scale and decided to weigh her on it this morning before her bath.  She was 11 lbs on the dot!!  She is getting chunky!
And here she is after her bath.  She doesn't really like bath time, and so afterwards I snuggle her and give her a binky.  She doesn't love the pacifier like most of my others have, but that is okay.  :)
She has a few baby pimples and I noticed a little bit of cradle cap this morning after her bath.  So far, her baby pimples have been nothing like Amber's were at the same age!
This morning it was humid but not bad in the shade.  The kiddos enjoyed playing outside and I enjoyed watching them play!  We stayed outside for about 2 hours.  It has been very rainy here the last few days and there is more rain set to begin late tonight and last for about a week.  I wanted to get out and enjoy the outside while we could!
The bigger boys were playing some sort of chasing/ tagging game outside!
Evan and Amber colored me beautiful pictures on the sidewalk!
And Miss Katelynn slept!  She seems to have a pattern of one fussy day followed by one sleepy day.  Yesterday was fussy so hopefully today will be good.  Tonight is our little town's fireworks and evening 4th of July parade.  Hopefully it will be a nice evening for both. :)  ps- scroll down for another post.  I usually don't like to do 2 in a day, but I never seem to find as much time to post on Saturday!

She lost a tooth!!

Last week while my mom was still here, we discovered that Amber's 2 bottom teeth were just slightly wiggly!  Who would have thought that just one week later, one of those teeth would already be ready to come out?!?  But it was!
She had been wiggling that loose tooth with her tongue all week long, and it was just barely hanging on by a thread.  So yesterday, I pulled it out for her!  She was so excited!!!
Don't you love that toothless grin?  She was so happy when she woke up this morning and found out that the tooth fairy had come and had given her money!!!  My little girl is growing up!!!

Sweet

I thought that this picture of Weston and Katelynn was especially sweet!  Katelynn doesn't really like to be held by the kids yet.  She usually just cries.  But yesterday she still needed to burp and there was something that I needed to do for one of the other children, so I gave her to Weston for a minute and came back to find this sweet picture.  Weston is SUCH a good helper!  I don't know what I would do without him!
And here she is this afternoon.  Katelynn has been awake and fussy for most of the day and just now fell asleep.  I had to snap a picture of those sweet chubby cheeks!!!  She is getting chunky and changing every day!!!  :)  I can't believe that she will be a month old tomorrow.  I wish that the last month of pregnancy would go as fast as the first month that the baby is here!! :)

Pool time!!

While Grandma W was here, she got the kiddos a new pool to play with.  This is an odd sort of summer for us.  Usually we go to the pool every day in the afternoon.  That is how we spend our afternoons.  But this summer, that is just not possible with Katelynn being so new.  I am not willing to take her and get her in that germy pool.  The last few days since Grandma has been gone, the kiddos have really enjoyed playing in the little pool on the driveway.
Here they are on the first day while filling up the pool.
This picture was kind of cool!  Make it big and look at how the water is spraying out of the hose!!  :)  So cool!
The water coming out of those hoses is very cold!!  I was surprised that they stayed in as long as they did.

Even the bigger boys had a fun time out in the pool.  :)  The second day that it was up, Weston got asked to go with a friend to the museum center.  That was okay, Brian had a great time playing a game that he made up with the other kids.

And what did Katelynn do while her brothers and sister played?  She slept on and off in her pink stroller!
I had to try out her cute patriotic outfit for the 4th of July.  And how did she really like it?
This picture is what she thought of the whole thing.  She is crying here because she was missing her Grandma!  She is saying, "Come back and help me Grandma!  It's not the same without you here!!!"  :)  Katelynn had a fussy day yesterday, but had a better day today.  I survived my first time flying solo with all 6 and having Barth be out of town too!!  He was out of town yesterday and today and got home late tonight!  Thankfully, I have good kids that are super good helpers!  That, and for the last few weeks, Katelynn has slept a good 4 hour stretch at night.  Not always, but most nights.  That helps!  :)

Saturday and Park Time

Saturday was a muggy kind of a day here.  But we set out early to go play at the park.  The kids had fun playing on the equipment while Grandma and I watched from the bench and held Katelynn.
Then Grandma went and pushed Evan on the swings and talked to Amber and Aaron while she was over there.

Amber and Aaron had fun climbing on the ladder up to the big slides.

Katelynn was a little fussy, but Grandma took good care of her!  I was thankful that the bench was in the shade!
The bigger boys decided to find sticks to play some sort of game.
As best as I could tell, it was some kind of sword fighting game.
Once we got home, Grandma got busy reading stories!  My children love to be read to, and Grandma read them lots and lots of books while she was here!!
These last two were taken on Sunday actually.  I wanted to get a few pictures of Grandma and Katelynn before Grandma left to go home.  I LOVED having her here.  I am sad that she has left and that I am all on my own now!  I miss her extra set of hands helping me with my own little 0 to 60 baby!!  Katelynn is either sleeping and good (or 0 as we call it), or screaming her holy head off (or 60).  There is really no in between for her.  :)  And with only one set of Mommy hands, she has done a lot more screaming these last 2 days.
Thanks for taking your vacation to come and help us Momma!  We love and miss you!!!

The last few weeks

I have been behind on posting since Momma was here and posting pictures on her blog for all to see.  :)  We had a nice visit with Grandma and Grandpa Yorke.  We even celebrated Grandma's birthday while she was here.  It was a fun day.  I was still feeling not quite back up to my old self while they were here, but was getting better every day.
For the last 4 weeks I have done lots of resting and taking care of little Miss Katelynn.  This last week I finally began to feel more like myself again and was able to get off of the pain medicine!  Thank goodness!
Katelynn was pretty good while Grandma W was here!  She was a good sleeper.  I love sleeping babies!
I really enjoyed having Grandma/ Momma here to help me out.  She loved holding Katelynn and taking her picture!!  :)  I enjoyed having my Momma to talk to and sit outside with while we watched the kids play.  Most of the entire time that she was here we had the most beautiful weather.  We did lots of swimming, but it really wasn't very hot at all!  The hottest days were the last 2 days that she was here.  It was muggy and sticky.  (It is like that today as well!)
I just love Katelynn's sweet little sleeping faces.  She is so precious!

The kids had fun several days outside playing in the sprinkler when it got to be too warm for them riding bikes and playing on the driveway.

Brian thought that it would be fun to air dry by swinging on the swingset.  Most days were absolutely perfect outside kind of days.
I was happy to sit on the deck and chat with my own Momma about all sorts of things.  I wish at times like these that we lived closer so that this could be our daily routine!
Little Evvy gets cold fastest of my kiddos.  He was ready to be done and dressed after about an hour on this particular day.
Grandma took such good care of everyone.  She was as busy as a beaver while she was here.  She did the dishes, the laundry, cooked, read bed time stories, played with the kiddos, helped with Katelynn all the time, and visited with me.  It was a fun 2 weeks. (For me anyway.  I think that she needs a vacation after all of her hard work!!!)
Father's day was a good day at our house.  Weston got this mustache for his Daddy at the birthday party that he went to on a Friday.  They went to a trampoline place and he got the mustache with the tickets that he won from the arcade games.
Katelynn loves her Daddy a lot!!  :)  We all do!  I'm thankful for Barth and all he does and provides for our family!
Sunday Katelynn was awake and alert.  She mostly still sleeps, and that is fine by me, but I do like to capture her sweet face when she is awake.

Momma left yesterday.  :(  Now it's time to be on my own and back to regular life.  I am so thankful for all the help that I had the last few weeks.  I am lucky and blessed that I had such good help so that I could fully recover and get back on my feet!!  I am going to miss my Momma, and the kids miss their grandparents.  Hopefully I will be able to get more pictures up soon and regularly of how our sweet little KatieLynn (as Weston likes to call her) is doing!
