We did the cake at the end of the day. We had pigs in a blanket, grapes and rolls for dinner as was the requested dinner by Weston. It was all very yummy, but we had to wait a little bit before we were ready for the cake. The cake was chocolate per Weston's request and was quite yummy if I do say so myself. It was a perfect ending to a great day of fun for our family. We are happy to have Weston as part of our family and I am glad that he had a very happy birthday!!!

We are singing happy birthday here. It took a little longer than usual because my camera batteries died mid-song. We changed them out and the candles continued to burn. After another round of "Happy Birthday to you..." he finally got to blow out the candles!!

We all loved the cake and ice cream. Especially Aaron!! For most of the time when he ate his cake, he used his fork, but by this point he had finally given up and turned to his hands!!

Jessie, no I didn't make it from scratch and actually this is the first birthday cake for Weston that hasn't been from scratch. Since Weston just barely outgrew his egg allergy, I have always made the eggless, chocolate, wacky cake. This cake was just plain, old Betty Crocker. The thing that I think is funny is that since Weston has always been allergic to eggs and has never had (up until about 6 months ago) any cake but chocolate, he doesn't like any other flavor but chocolate. He also doesn't like many cookies or donuts. Anything that had eggs in it that he never had tried until recently when he could have eggs, he doesn't like. Go figure!!
