All the news from our zoo that we don't have pictures for! :)

There have been lots and lots of things going on over here at our house, and thankfully, they all seem to be winding down!!!  In the past month, Weston had a band concert and a band competition.  He went to a special thing called Dream Fest at the college close by.  It was a special field trip for the gifted and talented kids.  He took some fun classes and had a great time.  He also qualified for the state Governor's cup competition, but since the main events that he was supposed to be involved with fell on a Sunday, he decided not to compete.  He also went down to Louisville one weekend with his math team to compete in a State Mathcounts competition.  They put the kids up in a hotel for the night before and had all sorts of activities for them.  Unfortunately, the other car in the carpool had a bad accident on the way down and so the kids didn't get there in time to see the movie or swim.  Thankfully, no one was badly injured.  Weston rode in the car with one of the coaches and his good friend Tanner and 2 other team mates.  The other coach had the other 3 team members in her van.  She was turning into the parking lot of Chili's for dinner on a protected green arrow when a car coming the other direction ran a red light.  It flipped her van over.  They had to call for an ambulance.  The kids had to be gotten out of the van through the back door.  They tried to break out the front windshield to get the coach out, but couldn't.  They ended up getting everyone out safely and checking them out.  Only the coach was injured and needed stitches.  What a blessing!  It was quite the ordeal!!!  Weston did not place in the state competition, but had a lot of fun there for the day.  Barth went and watched while I stayed home and took other children to birthday parties and worked on school projects.

Brian has been busy doing Odyssey of the Mind.  That has taken a lot of time.  He also had lots of practice for his Future problem solvers that he did for governor's cup!

Aaron competed recently in the pinewood derby!!  He made a great car that was gold with flames.  He had a fun time making it and painting it with Daddy!  The night of the derby was the same night as a band concert, so Barth went to the derby with him and I went to the concert.  Aaron did a great job, but didn't place.  He had fun though and got to get ice cream afterwards for a job well done!!!  :)

Life around here has been go, go, go!!  There is never a dull moment.  Tuesdays are cub scouts.  Wednesdays are boy scouts.  Thursdays were Odyssey practices and Saturdays are filled with all of the competitions.  Thankfully Odyssey is now done.  Mathcounts is now done.  Academic team is now done.  We are on the homeward slide!!  :)  Spring break is this next week and WE CAN'T WAIT!!!  Hooray for warmer weather and getting on to the end of the school year!

Sounds like days gone by to me. I'm glad you are busy and everyone is happy and healthy in Kentucky. I need to post those pictures from my trip there. For some reason, even without any kids at home, I have been busy, too.....
