Yesterday was our sweet Aaron's 8th birthday! He had a great day. Our day was fairly low key at home for the most of the day. Aaron got to pick the shows that the kids watched yesterday morning, which was a treat for him. Daddy made it home earlier than usual and we headed out to CiCi's pizza for dinner as requested by Aaron. After that was done, we came home and had presents!!!
I snapped a few pictures of the kids while we were waiting for the festivities to start. Daddy got a call from work just before it started, so we waited just a few minutes to begin. Daddy wasn't very long at all. Just long enough for a few silly pictures!
And some cute ones too! This little girl is sure growing up!
And so is this handsome young man! He is now just about a half inch shorter than me. He leaves for scout camp early Monday morning!!
Thursday I took all the kids to Dollar Tree so they could pick out presents for Aaron. They then wrapped them and made cards for their brother. Evan loved reading his card to Aaron. It was so sweet!!!
Thanks for the squirt gun Evan!
Weston had given Aaron his card earlier in the day with coins taped inside it. The funny thing was that Brian gave Aaron his card that was taped onto what he thought was his present. It turns out that it was actually the sudoku book that Weston had gotten Aaron! Oops!! Brian got Aaron an activity book that was the same size. :) It was just a little mix up!
Reading Brian's card.
Opening the cool activity book from Brian. It has things like dot-to-dot and word searches in it!
Then came Amber's turn to give her present. She worked really, really hard on her card for her brother. She loves him so much. She wanted to give Aaron money for his birthday in his card since she knew how much he likes money. (She was actually the first one to want to put money is his card, although Weston and Brian taped coins for Aaron in their cards too.) To me, the sweetest part was that she gave him all of her dollars. She had just gotten $2 from the tooth fairy for her first tooth lost ever, but she wanted her brother to have them both. "He would really love them better than me," was what she said when I asked her why she was giving all her money to her brother. :) So sweet!!
These two are such great friends.
Then it was time for a card and some presents from Mommy and Daddy!
He was so excited about this Lego set! He can't wait to work on it! He is going to get started today during nap time so that the little ones can't accidentally lose the parts if they were "helping" him!!
Daddy got Aaron some very cool foreign coins for his collection!
Then it was time to gather at the table for some cake and ice cream!!
Katelynn slept through all the presents! She woke up right at cake time!! Thankfully she slept through dinner at CiCi's too!
Happy Birthday to you!!!!! Make a wish and blow out the candles!! Aaron is excited about his upcoming baptism. It will be on August 3rd!!! :) We are so proud of the good young man Aaron is becoming. He is cheerful and happy! He loves the gospel. He tells everyone that he is going to be a missionary when he grows up! In that way, he is very much a missionary now. :) I am so thankful to have Aaron in our family!!
And I had to throw just one more in of our Miss KatieLynn! She is getting to be so big!! Big and LONG! Look at how she already fills the swing at just 7 weeks old!!!
Happy Birthday Aaron!!! We love you!!!!!
